Initial Concept Development

The design retainer begins the development of the design concept of your home. It is important to understand your budget and have your ideas collected before the design concept begins, allowing the design concept to be completed within the design retainer limits. Also, understanding your CC & R's (covenance conditions and restrictions), property limitations, architectural review agency, and county jurisdiction requirements are all important items to keep in mind during the development of the Design Concept.

Things to Keep in Mind

It is the responsibility of the client to pass on any limitations and guidelines that need to be incorporated into the concept. All design retainers have a limited amount of time to develop the design concept. If additional hours are necessary due to changes that extend past the scope of the design retainer, Sierra Design Group will implement an hourly charge to complete the concept with signed approval.
